Loot, selling & what to keep
Keep the items that support your next objective: fuel, matching ammo, a usable weapon, food and quest supplies. Sell spare valuables after those needs are covered.

Make the keep-or-sell decision
Last Stop’s official game description makes looting and selling part of the core loop. A valuable pickup is useful because it can pay for the next stage, but selling a needed supply can create a more expensive problem than it solves.
Before a terminal sale, separate the group’s essentials from its spare haul. If you are attempting Junk King, empty cans have a special purpose with Noodle. If you are pursuing Cure Fred, protect the cure potion rather than treating it as ordinary loot.
| Item or group | Default decision | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Fuel / gas cans | Keep what the next stretch needs | The bus needs fuel to continue. |
| Ammo matching your gun | Keep | A new gun is only useful while supplied. |
| Basic Wheel | Keep a replacement | The solo route uses spare wheels late in the ride. |
| Iron Sword / current weapon | Keep until replaced | Preserves a usable combat option. |
| Food | Use or reserve for the journey | Leave with your character prepared for the next stop. |
| Empty cans | Keep for a Junk King attempt | Noodle must be paid entirely in empty cans. |
| Cure potion | Keep for Cure Fred | Required for the cure ending. |
| Spare higher-rarity loot | Consider selling | Ricoko prioritizes it as sale cargo. |
Read the current sale value
Use the price shown in your current run when comparing two pickups. Prices can differ between items and rarities, so compare the amount displayed at the terminal before deciding what to sell.
The budget tool below accepts your sale proceeds and planned purchases. Enter the amounts displayed at the terminal to see whether the purchases leave you with a positive reserve.
Selling goals and vault goals
The Gold Hoarder requirement refers to the value in your vault. It is a different target from the cash earned by selling items. Keep those counters separate when planning a badge run. A large cash balance alone is not the condition written on the Gold Hoarder badge.
| Badge | Goal | What to track |
|---|---|---|
| Rich Person | $25,000 worth of items sold | Cumulative item sales |
| Elon Musk | $125,000 worth of items sold | Cumulative item sales |
| Gold Hoarder | 250 Ticket value in your vault | Vault Ticket value |
A quick terminal routine
In a group, agree who is collecting and spending the proceeds. The team video shows how confusing a shared haul can become when players pick up each other’s money and items. Clear roles make the same loot more useful without adding another detour.
- Read the next journey’s shortages: fuel, food, ammunition or replacement parts.
- Put quest supplies and your active loadout aside.
- Sell agreed spare items and note the actual proceeds.
- Buy essentials first, then equipment improvements.
- Recheck the bus and your inventory before leaving.
